Urban Farm, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Design concept and presentation
Graduate studio, Spring 2008, UCB
A large site in the heart of Sao Paulo is a laboratory for creating
an urban farm where food production, consumption and recycling
accrues simultaneously. This project is intended to initiate from
the macro scale of its urban setting and end up in the micro scale
of architectural space. Significant elements of the site, river and
railroad intersect on site. The concept for the project involves
a constructed wet land, elevated ground with sugar cane farms
located on roof and other programs housed underneath the roof.
